Walking, biking, gardens. There is so much to do! Our team has split up into two areas: Biking/Walking and Development of the Pipeline trail. Both teams have able leaders and are looking for more involvement from those in the community who care about these issues. Please Contact Elizabeth Seidl (firstname.lastname@example.org) to find out more about these initiatives and to get connected so you can contribute to your neighbourhood in these areas.
Jane’s Walks are being planned for the first weekend in May, coming soon! Get out into our community to experience your neighbourhood with your neighbours. Keep your eye on this page as we update information to get you connected to your local Jane’s walk for 2015.
In past years we have had very successful Jane’s Walks. Mary Bowness coordinated Jane’s Walks all over Hamilton. We had several great walks right in Crown Point. I attended the Gage Park Walk led by Bernie Morelli. It was full of past history and future hopes for the Gage Park. Fascinating. There was a kenilworth Stairs walk. There was a “walk” that was on bikes over the bridge over the QEW and down to Hatches along the cycling/pedestrian pathway, led by Sam Merulla. (See map below). There was a real estate walk. Our very own Rebecca Doll led a walk from Gage to Ottawa on Barton street. Thanks so much to Mary for getting so many people out on a beautiful spring day to enjoy their neighbours in their community.
There is a growing momentum for Complete Streets. Check out and like the Yes! We Cannon website if you believe in sharing streets for everyone. Putting our voices together can make a difference!
